Abstract :
In the computer graphics field, improving reality and reducing computational cost are both very important, thus a lot of research has been done to improve these two factors. For reality, physically based lighting models play an important role. Especially shadows and interreflections of light have a great impact on perceptual reality. To improve computational speed, exploiting the parallel processing ability of GPUs and using precomputation are major techniques. In this paper, we introduce some methods using precomputation and the GPU for efficient photo-realistic rendering.
