Abstract :
The "wireless revolution" of the late 90s generated enthusiasm, and consumed a significant amount of funds, only to suddenly disappear from the industry radar screen. The transfer of well-established military technologies to the commercial market seemed to have only very little success. This workshop reviews the technologies used in the wireless applications, within the context of new and different conditions, as well as the novelty introduced in the process.
