Abstract :
In this thesis, taking Guishan Han tomb 3D Visualization Simulation System as an example, an algorithm named half edge collapse mesh simplification based on constrained quadric error metric method(HECMSA-CQEM)is used to simplify the geometric models. Taking advantages of the progressive mesh, half edges are collapsed under constraining of quadric error metric method. As shown in experiment, the HECMSA-CQEM can improve the ´real time´ of the VR system with perfect ´realistic´ performance.
