Abstract
Many mobile communication networks have become operational in recent gears. Unfortunately most are characterised by high connection costs, low bandwidth and high transmission delay. We consider these deficiencies: the problems today´s users face are of a practical nature and equally practical, `down-to-earth´ solutions are required. We then describe the mobile applications framework, a generic system for mobile computing which allows the efficient use of mobile data connections
