Abstract
A family of temporal fuzzy sets is applied to modeling the dynamics of a physical system. The output trajectory of a physical process is decomposed through fuzzy partitioning into several patterns of dynamic activity. The membership functions are used in characterizing the extent to which the overall dynamics is governed by individual patterns. Simulated and real data examples are presented to illustrate the performance of the method
