Abstract :
In this paper a structure called evidence set is proposed. It is based on the extension of interval valued fuzzy sets by utilizing the theory of fuzzy measures, in particular, the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. These new structures allow us to build better simulations of human cognitive categorization and concept combination processes, since not only is the spectrum of uncertainty forms better represented, but also a certain form of context is included in the models
