Abstract :
A stable adaptive fuzzy control is applied to a DC motor for controlling its speed. The DC motor was modeled as a nonlinear third order system. An extension to the type of systems which the control can be applied has been developed. This extension was applied to control the speed of the DC motor. Simulation studies were performed for confirming the effectiveness of the control in this application. Tests of robustness to variations of the parameters of the motor were performed with excellent results
