  • Abstract
    Molar bears complicated features like cusp, ridge and fossa etc, and the CAD model of its prosthesis usually comes in STL format. On the basis of STL, this paper intends to introduce a new topological structure, and will propose the vertex-based entity offset algorithm in order to realize the rapid generation of roughing/finishing tool path for molar prosthesis. Indicated by simulated machining, the proposed algorithm proves excellent stabilization, fast calculation speed and high machining accuracy. This will positively accelerate the clinical application of demotic dental prosthesis CAD/CAM software.
