  • Abstract
The main discussion of this paper is a reciprocity approach for calculating the far field of cylindrical conformal microstrip arrays. The first step in the procedure is to solve for the current distribution on the surface of the microstrip patch. The second is to solve for the total field on the surface of the dielectric-coated metallic cylinder produced by a TE- and TM-polarized plane wave. The last step is to approach the far field of the microstrip antenna by the reciprocity theorem. The major advantage of this method is that it does not require the tedious evaluation of complicated media Dyadic Green´s function for curved geometries in the evaluation of the far fields. The agreement between the results of calculated and measured is very good.
