Abstract
Study is made on the scattering problem of a plane wave incident on a spherically stratified microwave lens. Then, the radiation field of the lens exited by an open-ended waveguide is calculated by the use of coordinate transformations and reciprocity theorem. Good agreement between the theoretical prediction and the measured radiation characteristics is observed. Finally, curves useful for the design of the spherically stratified microwave lens are presented.
