Abstract :
In this paper, performance for a particular unamplified microwave photonic filter, based on Intensity Modulation - Direct Detection, is evaluated using three figures of merit: RF gain, noise figure, and spurious-free dynamic range. Values obtained by simulation and experiment allow defining the quality of this electro-optical architecture.
