  • Abstract
Providing fast and efficient accesses to video content is a very important challenge for video database management systems. We developed a video database system which includes modeling capabilities in order to facilitate the creation of new videos from existing ones, to annotate video segments, to describe video data structure and to query video data. Such a work sets several problems in order to deal with video duration and to access as fast as possible to relevant parts of videos. We introduce the concept of dynamic abstract in order to adapt the video content to user time requirements during video presentation
