  • Abstract
The flux reversal machine (FRM) topology is best suited for low speed low power application. Fractional-slot, concentrated winding, surface permanent magnet machine (FSCWS-PMSM) is also suitable for this application. Comparative study of electro-magnetic performance of FRM and FSCWS-PMSM is carried out. This study is performed for same physical dimensions, rated speed, magnetic and electric loadings. These machines are compared with flux linkage, back-emf, winding inductance, electromagnetic torque and field weakening capability. Flux weakening capability of both machines is studied with d-q equivalent circuit and power density of both machines is evaluated and compared.
