Abstract
The distributed file system provides a facility for sharing files in a network environment to exchange multimedia data of video, audio and still pictures, etc. However, the current distributed file system does not support the real-time access of files yet. We propose a distributed file system that has the real-time access capability. This distributed file system enables the client to process the multimedia data through direct accesses to the high quality video data in the remote server, or it enables constant access of video and asynchronous access of still pictures simultaneously
