Abstract
Very narrow resonances (3.3 kHz HWHM) have been obtained by stimulated resonance Raman spectroscopy of iodine with a continuously pumped cell. This technique is used to measure frequency differences between hyperfine levels of the rovibronic ground state. Experimental and theoretical line shapes are compared and the accuracy of the measurements is discussed.
