  • Abstract
    Forestry informatization is a significant symbol of forestry modernization. After the emergency of GIS, it accelerated the development of forestry informatization by provided strong technology support. Mobile GIS is a branch of GIS. It bases on embedded GIS and integrates with a series of cutting-edge science and technology such as advanced GPS, wireless communication technology, mobile database technology to extend the application in the field of forestry informatization. We put emphasis on the mobile GIS application to forestry information collecting, forest fires monitoring, resource survey, lands consolidation, water and soil conservation and forestry e-government in this paper. Forestry resource management integrates with mobile GIS and becomes smooth and accurate. At the same time, there is broad latitude for the development of mobile GIS in forestry informatization although obstacles exist.
