  • Abstract
    The medial axis of a planar shape is the loci of all inscribed disks of the shape. In this paper, we discuss functions that are equidistant from pairs of boundary elements when using line segments and arcs in shape boundary description. These equidistant functions can be used for medial axis extraction.
