Abstract :
This paper presents an alterative bi-dimensional empirical mode decomposition based on the assisted images constructed in advance according to needed bandwidth. Firstly, the given assisted image and its negative counterpart are added to the original image respectively to construct the two images to be decomposed. Secondly, the decomposed IMFs from the two images are added together to get the IMFs, in which the added images are canceled out with less mode-mixing and boundary effects. The contribution of the method lies in the low time-cost and controllable bandwidth, which exist in ASBEMD. Lastly, the efficiency and performance of the method are given through theoretical analysis and its application in remote sensing image fusion, which outperforms some previous approaches.
