Abstract :
This report presents an approach for identifying the road uphill gradient and the vehicle pitch angle during straight forwards driving of a vehicle with the help of the vertical accelerometer, the longitudinal accelerometer and the wheel speed sensor signals. The derivation of the models and the used identification method are described. The practicability is demonstrated. Finally, the benefits, strengths and weaknesses of the method presented here are elaborated.
