Abstract :
This paper presents a simple circuit topology of edge-resonant PWM high frequency inverter using IGBTs which can operate under wide soft-switching commutation based on two zero voltage and zero current mode transitions. This inverter call operate on the basis of a constant frequency PWM control-based power regulation scheme under a wide soft-switching range. This soft-switching inverter is applied for consumer induction food cooking and processing appliance. The steady-state operating principle of this soft-switching inverter is described as compared with the active voltage-clamped high frequency inverter. Its power regulation characteristics are illustrated on the basis of the simulation and experimental results
