Abstract
Aim of the given paper is to present a new approach in manual arc welding power supply design based on constant-power operation of switch-mode load-resonant converter. Topology of the proposed power source along with its theoretical and practical study is discussed. Experimental results are provided and analysed to verify proposed topology. The favourable features of this converter like inherent short-circuit current limitation and fast parametrical response to load conditions will probably yield in some better welding performance and weld quality.
