  • Abstract
The influence of transportation to regional economic development and the relationship between them is one of the most important issues that economists and geographers concern about. Based on time series data, use co-integration theory and Granger causality test method to the relationship between highway traffic and economic development in chuanyu area, conclude that there is a long-term equilibrium and one-way Granger causality relationship between them, but the impact to economic development from highway traffic development lags behind 3 years. In the end, on the basis of the conclusion, some policy suggestions are put forward on chuanyu area highway traffic development.
