Abstract
Guided TEM waves have been usually investigated between 2 conductors. There are several circumstances when one encounters TEM waves guided by multiple conductors, like in flat cables, high frequency polyphase transmission lines, etc. In this work we develop a methodology for multiconductor TEM waves, as follows. The two dimensional Laplace equation for the scalar potential is solved for the given cross section geometr y, having N+1 conductors. Then an N×N elastance matrix is derived, and from it a characteristic impedance matrix, defining the connection between the voltages and the currents of a forward moving wave. From the impedance matrix one calculates the values of N(N+1)/2 resistors network that consist the matched load for the given geometry.
