Abstract :
In this paper, we present a planar microstrip dual band antenna with linear polarization and bat shape of the radiating element. This shape is unique and it enables to excite two resonances. Scaling the patch gives the possibility to change the operational frequencies. At both resonances the maximum radiation is normal to the surface of the antenna. The radiation pattern is symmetrical in the azimuth plane, due to the symmetry of the antenna. In order to obtain VSWR better than 2:1 at the resonant frequencies it is necessary to find the appropriate location for feeding the antenna.
