Abstract
The synthesis of a rapid prototyping framework for sliding mode controller design and implementation is described. An explicit sliding mode controller-observer design procedure is described which is transparent to an industrial user. An automated method is then constructed using off the shelf software and hardware products to develop a one touch design and implementation facility. This environment is used to solve an idle speed control problem
