Abstract :
Tagging technologies like barcode and RFID have made a revolution in our lives. These technologies when combined with mobile technology can result in many potential applications. These applications can range from simple object identification applications where the user scans a tag of a certain object and then get information about that object, to complex applications where tags are used as a mean to get a service like a location based service where tags are used to identify a location, or an informative service in museums or zoos. This paper will discuss some of the potential services that rely on end user interaction with tags through a mobile phone, taking into consideration the notion that multiple services could be reached using a single tag. This research will also present a system that aims at providing a consistent and service independent deployment mechanism for the services on the user´s mobile phone.
