Abstract
A generalized approach for predicting the resonant frequencies of microstrip antennas is described for computer aided design applications. It is capable of predicting the resonant frequencies of arbitrary shaped patch antennas. The approach has been validated for triangular, hexagonal, elliptical and rectangular microstrip antennas. The present work can also be used for measuring dielectric properties of slab-type materials.
