  • Abstract
    The asphalt was modified with waste PVC and SBS, adopt 2%SBS+PVC and 4%SBS+PVC (the percentage of total asphalt system) two processes to compound modification of 90# asphalt. The softening point test, penetration at 25°C test, ductility at 5°C test and PI index were performed to characterize the modification effects. The results show that, the waste PVC/SBS compound asphalt can effectively increase both high and low temperature performance, remedy the shortage of waste PVC modified asphalt. Besides, infrared absorption spectroscopy analysis was carried out, we reason that modification mechanism was mainly for the multiphase three-dimensional network graft´s formation between stabilizer, modifier and asphalt, caused internal chemical composition change of modified asphalt.
