Abstract
With the improvements in Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network (UW-ASN) technology, distributed deployment mechanism will be needed for allowing flexibility in many UW-ASN applications rather than depending on centralized solutions. However, due to the limitations of UW-ASN, the integration of UW-ASN and the Internet for resource sharing encounters some difficulties. In this paper, we build a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) based UW-ASN collaboration platform in order to support distributed storage, rapid data sharing and early warning of abnormal situations in the application layer of the UW-ASN. We propose a mobile agent based conflict resolution mechanism for improving the performance of LIFO and FIFO packet reception strategies. Through simulations we have shown that both LIFO and FIFO with collaborations can improve the performance of delay and throughput than original LIFO and FIFO reception strategies.
