Abstract :
Summary form only given. Previously, we reported on the extra-low-hequency noise of shielded GMR heads, including llf noisc and random telegraph noise (RTN). Both were mainly of magnetic origin. In this study, we focus on the properties of the non-magnetic part of the noise. By applying a large enough field, the magnetics associated part of the noise can be suppressed. The remaining noise presumably arises from the granularity of the GMR sensor materials and the contact resistance of the contiguous junctions.
