Abstract
Electrical Engineering suffers in recent years from low popularity among students in many developed countries. It is therefore important to uncover causes for this attitude and techniques to increase the popularity of engineering education programs. One of the causes identified by research teams is the low awareness of engineering in the general population. It is claimed that teaching the History of Electrical and Information Technologies (Electrotechnology) in high-schools (and possibly even in primary classes), will raise the interest in engineering studies when students have to opt for college studies.
