Abstract
Recently, El Gamal and Hammons (2001) proposed a simple method for deriving noise thresholds that fully determine the asymptotic error probability behavior of certain type of error correcting codes. In this paper, we use these thresholds and the asymptotic results presented by Li et al. (2006) to derive analytical lower bounds for the frame error rate of coded multi-antenna systems utilizing spatial multiplexing at the transmitter and linear zero-forcing or minimum mean squared error based estimator at the receiver. In addition, Monte Carlo computer simulations are presented to validate the theoretical analysis.
