Abstract :
The structural principle of the quaternary data encryption standard (QDES) algorithm is briefly reviewed. The code correlations between cipher text and plain text and between cipher text and key are analyzed for the algorithm. The result shows that the QDES algorithm preserves binary-DES´s correlation characteristic, thus providing a theoretical basis for the application of the QDES algorithm
