Abstract
The main causes of stripes and the basic principles of the common de-striping algorithms are analyzed firstly. The traditional histogram matching method changes the gray distribution of the raw image. The changes are serious when the image is small or the surface feature is complex. Secondly, an improved histogram matching method based on sliding windows is proposed to solve this problem. Finally, the new method and traditional method are compared qualitatively and quantitatively. Experimental results indicate that the new method can remove stripes while retaining more surface information.
