Abstract
This paper deals with design and implementation issues of a DSP-based single-phase shunt active power filter under distorted voltage source. Some details about the digital controller using a DSP, based on a direct current method, including the hardware synchronous, software design and soft-startup are presented. The designed shunt active filter with its current controller has been tested under a highly distorted voltage at the PCC with a 1-kV/40-V experimental prototype based on DSP TMS320LF2407A. Hardware results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of designed active filter and its capability in meeting the IEEE 519–1992 recommended harmonic standard limits.
