Abstract
We study the problem of accurately tracking a target moving through a wireless sensor network employing proximity sensors. We address the issues of estimating target location, having measurements irregularly spaced in time, and improving energy efficiency by applying a Kalman filter in a distributed architecture. The behavior of the tracker and its second order statistics are studied to provide insight into the operation of the tracking sensor network. Simulations illustrate the performance of the tracking system.
