Abstract :
An intense electromagnetic field propagating ionized gas induces a plasma oscillation and a wake field structure behind the pulse. When the electromagnetic field propagates in a gas-media the field ionizes the gas which leads to a density in homogeneity. The effect of ionization on wake field formation is investigated by using particle simulations.
