Abstract :
The author describes a recursive technique to enhance image-sequences. This technique has the effect of motion-compensated temporal smoothings. It suppresses noise but does not blur the moving regions. The method does not require that the motion-field be explicitly computed in advance. Instead it incorporates an implicit model for temporal rate of change of intensity. Based on this model, the technique computes the optimal estimate of the instantaneous image intensity in an incremental fashion. The estimate improves over time. Experimental results are shown on image-sequences from various application domains
