  • Abstract
The Ecological Infrastructure is defined as the structural landscape network that is composed of the landscape elements and spatial patterns. Taking Shitan Town (Guangzhou) as a case study, this paper introduces the theory of Landscape Security Patterns, and proposes a systematic methodology in planning Ecological Security Patterns under the ecological control factors of farmland, woodland, wetland, rivers and cultural heritage. With the aid of GIS models, the ecological security pattern is carried out by using of graphics overlay technology and information analysis. The results showed that an ecological security pattern in Shitan should be optimized 4 ecological corridors (Zengjiang River, Dongjiang River, Xifu River and Zengtang Reservoir) and 5 ecological sources (farmland as a core and woodland, wetland, mountain, water bodies as the plaques) for functions of connection and continuity so as to abate pressure, resist pollution, stabilize regional ecosystem and make the environment protection space and regional economic and social development.
