Abstract :
This paper presents a TE10 mode spherical helical Electrically Small Antenna (ESA) for ground communication applications. By choosing proper physical dimensions of the antenna, it could operate at unfolded and folded states for different operating frequencies. And the simulated and measured frequency reconfigurabilities are respectively 34 MHz and 33.2 MHz. Simulated radiation efficiencies are over 98% for both states.
