Abstract
Gaussian pulse scattering by the microstrip gap and the microstrip T-junction is simulated based on the finite-difference time-domain method. Time-domain results are obtained and visualized to explicitly illustrate pulse scattering. Frequency-domain characteristics of the discontinuities in terms of scattering matrix coefficients are derived from the Fourier-transformed time-domain data. The results of calculations are compared with other available data.
