Abstract
Here the authors are concerned with 3D discrete curvature computing in the context of motion estimation of the heart. Curvature information can help to characterize the heart wall surfaces. It can also provide reliable reference points from real 3D data that could guide a matching proces or the inference of 3D local model of the heart´s movement. The authors chose to implement an iterative method which refines an initial estimate of the curvatures. They present some results of its application on synthetic and actual 3D cardiac data of a dog
