Abstract :
This paper discusses the use of an electrically small inverted L antenna for vehicular high-frequency (HF) communications. Questions related to the antenna height and tuning above infinite PEC ground, along with the decoupling from a vehicle are considered. It is demonstrated that the antenna can be easily tuned by means of commercially available passive elements, while the decoupling may be implemented to increase the overall gain.
