Abstract
A recent paper presented by O.V. Thorsen and M. Dalva of Bergen College documented the causes of failures on 356 HV motors ranging from 100-1000 kW over 2,430 machine years. This paper analyses 141 such failures, which occurred during this period; from this type of analysis it is easier to see what features should be monitored to reduce failures in service
