Abstract :
The paper demonstrates how non-uniform feed method can significantly enhance the performance of planar lens antenna system for steering applications. It is found that employing non-uniformly grouped switched subarray feed can enhance gain of the planar lens antenna system at high beam-steering angles and also non-uniformly spaced feed array can enhance bore-sight gain of planar lens antenna system fed using low-bit phase shifters, leading to low cost and simple feed network.
