Abstract
How to bridge the gap between the traditional course teaching and e-learning? A case studying of such a question is addressed in this brief paper. Two parts of contents are involved here. Firstly, answering the question, "What is e-learning?" is recalled. We focus on the character and trends of modern e-learning idea. Then, the question, "How to create a Web course as a good compensation way of traditional course teaching?", as a vivid case study, is addressed. After briefly introduced the background and situation of e-learning in China, strategies of speeding up e-learning in higher education fields are provided for reference in practice activities in universities in China. The strategies and schemes proposed here can be easily extended and applied to other similar situations, especially in those polytechnic universities in China.
