Abstract :
In this paper a MIMO based meandered line antenna system is presented for mobile devices. First a non-uniform meandered line antenna with a topology of five turns is discussed. A p-i-n diode is used as a switch to connect and disconnect parts of this antenna, allowing it to tune its operating frequencies between 4G LTE and other wireless communication applications. Next, a two element MIMO configuration of this meandered line antenna is investigated. The size and position of the elements are optimized for integration in mobile devices.
