Abstract :
Welding process is a highly nonlinear and strong coupling, time-varying system. In order to stabilize the arc welding current, a novel system based on fuzzy neural network control is presented in this paper. Fuzzy control has the features of absorbing the existing experience, while neural networks have self-organizing and self-learning features about information processing. The neural network was embedded in the fuzzy control system so that the system could self-adjust the membership functions and the fuzzy control rules. Computer simulation showed the improvement of the system characteristics.
