Abstract
This paper is focused on image authentication, as the process of evaluating the integrity of image contents relative to the original picture and of being able to detect, in an automatic way, malevolent image modifications. The paper begins with a description of a general framework for content based authentication of images and video. Then, a specific method is proposed. It relies on image edges and tries to tackle the problem of image/video integrity from a semantic, high-level point of view. Experimental results are presented for well known image and video sequences
