Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a similarity-based image retrieval from a part of images by self-organizing map with refractoriness. Most of the conventional image retrieval systems can retrieve only from whole image. In contrast, the proposed system can retrieve similar images not only from whole image but also from a part of image. We carried out a series of computer experiments and confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed system.
